I'm Jo Green- A New York based creative strategist, educator, photographer and journalist with a background in business development, operations, media and brand storytelling.

My career hasn't followed a traditional path- and that's exactly what makes my perspective valuable.

While juggling my career in education, I've worked across media publications, startup consulting, live events, photography studios, cannabis operations, wellness ventures, and creative direction. I understand how to build something from the ground up because I’ve done it repeatedly—whether that means helping a founder sharpen their brand strategy, producing editorial content that drives visibility, or creating operational systems that help businesses scale sustainably.

As a photographer, I specialize in portrait, editorial, and brand storytelling that feels human—not overproduced.

As a journalist, I tell stories rooted in culture, entrepreneurship, and community.

As a strategist, I help brands figure out how to grow without losing their identity.

Born in Washington Heights. Raised in Harlem. Currently creating from the Bronx.

New York is in everything I make.

Creative Inspirations

Jo Green Creative Strategist

I'm very analytical, have an immense appreciation for detail & do things that make sense.  As someone who's spent a decade working in education as a teacher, advisor, and in leadership, those skills transfer over to my creative work.  Creatively- I'm very New York-ish.  Son of an artist. Family full of artists. I shoot photography.  I'm a journalist.  I am a web designer, graphic designer, and creative director when called upon.  I love concepting visuals to go along with music- whether or not that's designing album artwork, or directing music videos.  With having such a robust wheelhouse of disciplines, I have so many GOATS I have to thank.

Diane Martel - Video Production

Rest In Peace!

She directed one of my all time favorite videos "Mass Appeal", by Gangstarr.  I love her set locations, lighting, and raw authentic storytelling.  Her resume is immense--Google her!

Paula Scher- Graphic Design

I wasn't familiar with Paula's work until watching the show Abstract on Netflix.  Her graphic design resume is robust- yet I really love and appreciate her album artwork.  Collecting vinyl records is a pastime of mine- and Paula ability to blend images, the right type and right aestethic is god-like.

Kid Art- Creative Direction

Chariot Pictures- Cheer$ Club (shouts to Vinny Cha$e)

Kid Art is superb at lighting and visual storytelling.  He definitely had a run as the best music video producer out.  Has a signature storytelling style which is modern- yet authentically New York.  If you're from here-- you get it

Andy Warhol- Art

My favorite artist of all time-- if you make it to my house- you'll see a huge Warhol poster in my kitchen.  Too many pieces of his I admire- yet the one thing of his' that I draw inspiration from daily is Interview magazine.  I love editorial storytelling, which crisp artistic photography and conversational journalism.    I also love his mystique and the fact that he was so private in his personal life- something that I share as an introvert.

Stevie Wonder- Musical Genius

Go on Youtube now and type in "All I Do" by Stevie Wonder.  The beat-- he produced it.  Played every instrument.  The lyrics tell a story of deep admiration- and they were also written by Stevie.  The kicker-- he was only 16 at the time.  That's a testament to his genius, being able to produce, write & sing amazing music an art form that is timeless.  I always wonder his thought process to a song- and how he puts it together as I nerd out on music production.  All time GOAT!

If you really want to renovate a building- don't stand accross the street with your tools.
